So let me ask you a simple question: is your website generating enough opportunities for you? Is it helping your business grow by creating qualified leads? Today I’m going to talk to you about a simple tip that you can follow to greatly increase the number of leads that you’re getting from your website.

Hi, I’m Jonathan with Valorous Circle, and today I want to talk to you about a very simple tip that you can follow on your website to increase the number of leads that you’re getting, the number of opportunities that your website is creating, and how your website can help generate more qualified opportunities to grow your business.

That tip, it’s simple. We call it the Five Second Fifth Grader Test. What is that test? It’s very simple. Go to a phone, or your laptop, however you think your customers are most likely to engage with your website, load your page. And without scrolling, spend five seconds, and ask if you can answer these three simple questions. Remember, don’t scroll.

  1. What do you do as a company?
  2. What does it mean to your customer? How are you going to make their life better if they choose to work with you?
  3. If they want to make their life better and work with you, what should they do next?

So three simple questions that your website should answer in five seconds or less without any scrolling, without any movement on the website, or any interaction on the part of your visitor. And to make it a little bit better, think in terms of a fifth grader. Don’t dumb down your content to the point that it doesn’t make sense, but don’t use industry jargon. Don’t use acronyms and things everybody is not going to know. Could a fifth grader take a look at your website and in five seconds answer those three questions without scrolling? If so, you’re going to greatly increase the number of leads that your website generates for your business, and as a result, your website is going to become a tool that creates opportunities to grow your business.
