Hi, I’m Jonathan, and today I want to talk to you about why it’s important that you can create and share consistent content on your website, on your social media, and on other online channels.

So you may have noticed recently, especially if you’re a member of the digital marketing group, that I’ve been sharing a number of content bits with you for the last week without doing any video. And that’s been on purpose. One, a busy schedule on my part, but also to demonstrate to you the importance of creating regular and consistent content that should be of interest to your viewers and to the audience that you’re trying to reach. What have I been sharing? Well, I’ve been sharing some motivational quotes, some success quotes so to speak, and those have been receiving pretty good feedback. What’s been interesting is that while doing that, not only has the engagement been decent, but I’ve also been able to grow the group. So we’ve had additional people join the group during this time, even without the need for me to do different videos like this one, where I’m explaining topics.
You may say, well, Jonathan, that’s all great, that’s fine, the group is growing, but why are you doing this? Well, I want to demonstrate to you how easy and simple it is, as well as how important it is, to share regular content, whether it be on your blog on your website, on your Facebook group like I’m doing here, or on your Facebook page, Instagram, or anything else, it’s really important that you create remarkable content for your audience. And what’s remarkable content? It’s content that they’re going to be interested in that hopefully some of that audience wants to make remarks about.

I chose to do success quotes knowing that I’m dealing with business owners, trying to teach them more about digital marketing like we’re doing here, and focusing on the fact that I wanted to be able to create something that I could do very quickly and easily. The last week and a half has been super busy, and I’m thankful for that, but I haven’t had as much time to sit down and record videos and to answer some questions. So I needed some content that I could create easily and that I could do so quickly, but it would still be relevant.
I went ahead and shared some success quotes. I took, candidly, some advice from a couple of other groups that I’m part of where they regularly share different success quotes that are motivational. I know that I pay attention to those, and I found out again many of you do as well. On average, it would take me about three or four minutes to create one of those each day. I use a tool online called Canva to do that, it’s a very simple set-up, and once I have the quote set-up, I literally found a new quote each day, pasted that in there, changed the background color, and saved that and uploaded it to the group.

I’m going to do a tutorial on exactly how I walked through that here in the next couple of days so you guys can see how that works and determine if that’s a tool that would help you with your business. But I wanted to talk today again about just the importance of sharing easy, remarkable content. Sometimes you’re going to have grand plans. I began the year off with a goal of creating not just a couple of videos, but one video every single weekday. Well, it didn’t take me long to realize that as usual, I may have overshot what I was capable of getting done within the timeframe allotted. So I migrated that, or changed that goal a little bit, evolved that goal I guess, to get to the point where I’m now doing regular videos and I try to do one or two per week.

As I was prepping and looking forward a couple of weeks ago, I realized that with some of the things in my schedule, I wasn’t going to have time to create those videos, but I needed to create content to keep everyone involved, to keep you involved and give you things to look at on the Facebook group page, be able to put out on my blog, and to be relevant to things that you’re interested in.

Why is that important? Well, just ask yourself, had I gone dark for the last two or three weeks and not posted any content, you probably wouldn’t remember. You might not even notice. But you’d be less likely with Facebook algorithms and all of that to see this video when it came up as well because you hadn’t been participating in this group. That’s why it’s so important to do that.

The other reason it’s important is that regular communication, that regular content, keeps you top-of-mind with your audience. What does that mean? Well, that means that last week I got two phone calls from people in this group looking for services that I offer, asking questions, trying to find out how I might be able to help them. That’s great because those are free leads and we love to get those leads that come through.

So if you’re looking to find out how you can get top-of-mind awareness, how can you create more opportunities online, one of the key things I want to encourage you to do today is to create regular and consistent content that’s of interest to your audience that they can remark on. I chose to do that daily; you may choose to do that just once a week. But be consistent. And did I mention, be consistent?

If you’ve got questions on how to do this or if you’ve got thoughts, I’d love to have a discussion with you and I’d love to hear your thoughts on the importance, the difficulty, and maybe even questions you may have about how to create that consistent, regular content. Drop me a note, I’d love to chat.

With that, make it a great day, and we’ll talk to you soon.
