Content marketing is a strategic marketing approach focused on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience — and, ultimately, to drive profitable customer action. (Content Marketing Institute)
Content marketing, simply, is a focus on providing relevant content to your target audience instead of trying to sell them your product or service. The hope is that through your content, you:
  • Are found by your target audience
  • Can make an emotional connection with your audience, and
  • Can turn that connection into an opportunity with a percentage of your audience.
Content marketing can include things like infographics, blog posts, videos, social media posts, ebooks, articles, etc.
The key to success with content marketing is remembering that content marketing requires persistence – a commitment to succeed even when it doesn’t seem to be working.
Why you may ask? Simple, content marketing takes time. You are not going to publish one blog post, create one video, or post one thing to social media and gain a following. That one post is not going to generate a plethora of leads to your door. The good news is – a consistent process of content marketing can build a following, can generate interest and will, if done properly, create new opportunities for your business.
