Content Marketing – You Never Get a Second Chance to Make a First Impression

What type of first impression is your business making?

Have you ever been on a bad first date? I remember a couple of dates from my earlier days where the first impression made on me was more than a bit negative. I’m sure I also managed to make a less than stellar impression on a few of my dates as well. Just as there were not second chances in those few instances while I was dating, your business does not often get a second chance to make a first impression either.
So what makes up the content that you share? What content makes a positive impression? It’s more than just the words you use.
While not an exhaustive list, here are the top three key components of your content marketing that you can control to make a positive first impression:
  • the words you use – is your content well written and easy to understand?
  • the message you share – is that message of interest to your prospects?
  • the visuals you use – does your content look good to your prospects?
What do you think? Do you get a chance to make a second impression? What aspects of your content help impact that first impression?
