Mother’s Day in West Michigan
It’s been a great day. We (my lovely wife, my mother-in-law and my mother with my youngest son and me in tow) started off with a wonderful and challenging message at church, had a nice drive down to Gun Lake and a good Mother’s Day Brunch at BayPointe Inn in Shelbyville, MI. We then thought it would be nice to take a slow drive to Plainwell for ice cream (slow as in we were so completely full!). We drove by Plainwell Ice Cream and thought better of our indulgent plan when we saw 50+ people lined up outside the door waiting for some delicious ice cream. We decided to go around the corner to Dean’s Ice Cream and found that the line was a bit shorter . . . although not non-existent. It was a great way to end the day prior to driving back to Grand Rapids.
Along the way we stopped and took some photos. Here are a few of my favorites:
First, Apple Blossoms at Baypointe Inn
Next, some Trillium along the way near Plainwell, MI
