How To Build Credibility Online

Don't talk all about yourself

It's easy for us as business owners to talk about ourselves. This has it's place - although not when it comes to building credibility online. Remember - people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Build credibility by following this simple formula: One out of every ten (1 out of 10) social media posts should be about you. Nine out of 10 (9 our of 10) should be about someone else.

How To Handle An Unsupportive Spouse

Be the wind in my sail

Engage your spouse in a discussion talking about how the business will benefit them - more money, more time, less work, nicer home, new car, etc. Let them know that you can be more productive and successful with their support and that you'd like them to be the "wind in your sails" not the "anchor that holds your boat back." Things To Not Do On Social Media Sites

Give Your Audience A Reason To Pay Attention To You (that Means NOT Talking About Yourself)

I think the best answer is quite simple. NEVER spend more time talking about yourself than you talk about others. You need to give your audience a reason to pay attention to you - if you don't they won't hear your message.

I recommend having at least three things about others for every one thing about yourself. This ensures that your audience pays attention to you for your relevant information and doesn't choose to ignore you because you only talk about yourself.

Create A VISUAL Name : Your business or product name should create an immediate visual in the mind or your target audience. Just as Seth Godin did with "Purple Cow" you need to do the same with you business or product name. Start your brainstorming with a simple combination - pick a color and an item that brings an image to mind (i.e. frog, tree, house, car, etc).
